Leadership
We believe in educating the mind, body and spirit of every child at Blessed Sacrament. Leadership opportunities are an important part of fostering the whole child. Students are given opportunities to serve as role models and leaders in the school.
The Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Student Council meets montly and is responsible for initiating service projects, sponsors pep rallies, prepares Mass, and brings new ideas to the school that affect positive change. Officers are elected in the fall and include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Comminsioner of Religion and Commissioner of School Spirit. We have class representatives in grades 5-8 that also serve on Student Council.
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes the top fifteen percent of the class who have demonstrated academic excellence in all subject areas, exhibits leadership skills, and has excellent conduct. Students nominated must model our Catholic faith and be leaders for the school maintaining all of these qualities throughout their entie eighth grade year.
Students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 are paired with a buddy in a younger grade as “Mass Buddies.” Mass Buddies have a special friendship that is fostered over the four years through games, parties, and activities. In addition, our Mass Buddies sit together weekly in Mass where they sing and pray together. The Mass Buddy is the same partner for all four years.
